Here is Why I Support Bernie Sanders

I am supporting Bernie Sanders for President.  I am a Progressive, and I have been waiting for the next FDR.  I was disappointed by President Obama.  He calls himself a Progressive, but Mr. Obama is to progressive politics what a chassis is to a car — a good start, but not quite the complete, fully-functional package.  Bernie is a Progressive Ferrari.  He is one of us, and he takes care to not take contributions from the people who have turned the Democratic Party into a centrist, corporation-coddling machine lacking the courage to stand up for “We The People”.  Bernie does not lack that courage, instead, he is a lion for the people.  Bernie is not ashamed of what Progressives stand for, and he doesn’t run away from the S word — Socialism.  The Republican base is terrified by this word, the Wasserman-Schultz wing of the party runs away from it, but Bernie embraces it.  And why not?  The Fox News Bubble Bees who are terrified of socialism, which oddly enough plays a big role in making their lives better, are never going to vote for a Democrat any way.  We need a true champion who fight hard for the middle class, who will keep the military-industrial complex in check, who cares about the health of people, our Democracy and the need to keep it strong, who cares about our environment more than corporate profits.  There is no stronger champion of these ideals than Bernie Sanders.  I am giving financial support to his campaign, and very soon I plan to double down on that support, because like it or not, American politics presently runs on money.  The last reason I give for supporting Bernie is that I have two daughters in their twenties.  We are running out of time.  Our country and our species faces enormous challenges that the Republican party, and even some moderate Democrats fail to address, but Bernie will provide the leadership needed to focus our nation on these issues.  I close by saying I don’t hate Hillary Clinton, but she is a centrist, like her husband, and like Obama.  If Hillary ends up being the nominee, I will support her, because frankly, what is the alternative?  If I get my preference, Bernie Sanders will be the next President of the United States.
